Ginz NonBinary Street Wear, Fast Fashion & Piecemeal Design

I started a NonBinary Wardrobe Makeover in March, 2021, and I went nutz!

  1. I was born in 1955. When I was 3, an aunt asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said a cowboy. She said because I was a girl, I had to be a cowgirl. Yuchh! I wanted to kick her. Sixty years later, duh! Not a girl, not a boy. Nonbinary
  2. GinUp Fashion started with my 2021 Wardrobe Makeover, and embraces:
  3. I wear sunglasses and masks in all the photos (but not in real life) because they make me look cool (and, OK, I don't do makeup, I don't have a makeup artist, I'm not as photogenic as I used to be and I have to reject way fewer photos with a mask and sunglasses on).
  4. Now, mostly all I wear wherever I go are clothes from my NonBinary Wardrobe. I like dressing for who I am even if no one else knows what the colours mean—my clothes are my second skin. I also get a lot of compliments and people ask where I got my stuff (especially the camo pants). Whenever I get a comment, I ask if they’d like to hear about why the four colours. They always do.

These came purple, white, black and grey. I coloured some of the white on the cargo and back pockets and that area on the front under the yellow belt.

Lightning (7 slides)Up ArrowUp Arrow

Skateboarding pants from England. They came with purple (pink depending on the lighting) and white lightning and a black background. I coloured the lightning on the back pockets and one piece of lightning on the front with a yellow permanent marker:

Here, I mostly cut designs out of T-shirts then appliquéd them on with fabric tape.

T-Patches (5 slides)Up ArrowUp Arrow

Cutting designs out of t-shirts to appliqué onto Jacket Backs left me with lotsa t-shirts with big holes in the front. I experimented with patching some of those holes with fabric from different coloured bandanas and one with fabric from another holed t-shirt.

Dressy (13 slides)Up ArrowUp Arrow

My dressy white Chucks have gold ankle logos and eyelets, and purple heel stripes. (Remember, gold for yellow.) Other than the Chucks, caps and masks, and sequin jacket, I owned everything at least a decade before the wardrobe makeover.
